IPL 2026 Playoffs Set: RCB Finish on Top as RR Complete Final Four
The league stage of IPL 2026 has officially come to an end, and the playoff picture is finally clear. Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Gujarat Titans, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Rajasthan Royals have secured their spots in the playoffs after an intense and dramatic league campaign.
RCB finished at the top of the points table with 18 points and the best net run rate of +0.783 after winning 9 out of 14 matches. Gujarat Titans and Sunrisers Hyderabad also ended with 18 points, but RCB’s superior net run rate helped them secure the number one position. Rajasthan Royals claimed the fourth playoff spot with 16 points after a strong finish to the season.
While the top four teams celebrated qualification, several big franchises faced disappointing campaigns this season. Mumbai Indians and Lucknow Super Giants both finished near the bottom of the table with only 8 points each, while Chennai Super Kings failed to qualify for the playoffs after managing just 12 points in 14 matches.
Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals stayed in the playoff race until the final matches but narrowly missed qualification despite late victories. Kolkata Knight Riders also struggled to maintain consistency throughout the season and finished seventh in the standings.
This IPL season delivered several thrilling finishes, high-scoring encounters, and major surprises, keeping fans engaged until the very last league match. With the playoffs now set, attention shifts toward the knockout stage where the battle for the IPL 2026 trophy officially begins.
